Why a Viking Cargo Bike?
Purchasing a Viking Cargo E-Bike is an investment that you and your family will be thankful for. An environmentally positive step in reducing carbon emissions and a solution to getting around the neighborhood without relying on an extra vehicle. In North America, we are a little behind when it comes to how we get around our cities. But, by taking a page from the Scandinavian way of life, introducing Cargo Bikes is a no-brainer.
A functional option for getting the kids around town, picking up groceries or taking a drunk relative home from the Christmas Party, a Viking cargo bike can do it all thanks to its electric-assist motor. Whether it be short distances or long distances, the range of the Viking Cargo Bikes can get up to 60km on one charge. The option of switching out batteries and a recharge time of only 2-3 hours makes the bike extremely versatile. A total carrying weight of 150kg also ensures that you can stock up on extra pints of ice cream from the grocery store.
What accessories come with the bike?
We believe in value and that is why we include many accessories that come standard with your bike and not something that you have to purchase after the sale. We include a mounted frame bike lock to all our bikes. We also include a removable canopy system with transparent panorama canopy and entrance from the sides. Luggage rack with straps, a bell, LED lights and an additional rain cover for the entire bike to protect it from the elements when not in use.
Is servicing an e-bike any different than a regular bike?
E-Bikes have two parts, the electrical and the mechanical.
Mechanical parts are the same parts that you’ll see on non-electric bikes. You might find that your bike parts might wear a little faster than on a non-electrical bike – especially the brake pads, chains, cogs, and tires. But that is because most people put many more kilometers on their e-bike.
Some basic maintenance that you can do on your own includes keeping your tires properly inflated and lubricating your chain.
Electrical parts don’t require any maintenance. If you do run into a problem with an electrical part, you will want to go to a shop that has some expertise in servicing e-bikes. You will want to make sure that the battery always keeps some charge in it to ensure proper function and longevity.
Why would I use an e-bike over a regular bike?
With the electrical assistance of a Viking Cargo e-bike, you will be able to get to where you need to go faster and easier than on a regular bike. With an e-bike, climbing hills is a breeze thanks to the electrical assist and you won’t need to take a shower when you get to your destination. Ever try to find parking in a busy city? A Viking Cargo bike is a great alternative to ditching the car. Getting to sit in the front of a Viking Cargo bike is like a roller coaster for the kids. They will love it!
How fast can an electric bike go?
